A GE Ice Maker could be a nice edition to your kitchen. There are many choices of ice makers on the market and picking the right one doesn’t have to be an overwhelming task. The lower quality brands could not be the “cheaper” option in the long run. There are many things to consider.
How much ice does this particular machine make?
Knowing the amount of ice the ice maker will make should be somewhat of a determining factor. It doesn’t do you much good to buy an ice maker that doesn’t produce the amount of ice that you will need. If you don’t get a big enough one, you might be spending more money in the long run anyway.
How fast does it make the ice?
Again, this is another factor that you should consider because some ice makers don’t produce ice fast enough to meet your standards.
Lower quality brands could have other flaws too. The ice cubes may clump together more than normal, the ice cubes might not drop from the mold, they may leak and drip water, or it may not stop making ice and will overflow into the bucket. All of these things could be potential problems that you might not realize with purchasing a lower quality brand.
Uses for a GE ice maker:
If you are going to purchase a GE ice maker or any type of ice maker, you might not realize the value of ice until after you purchase it. Ice can be used for a wide range of things. If you throw a lot of parties, having ice on hand is surely a benefit. Yes the refrigerator will contain some ice, but if your party is large enough, you might run out. Adding an ice maker to your refrigerator will surely be a benefit. You will no longer have to fill up trays every time you need ice.
Do you go to the beach or have a picnic often? Every time you use your cooler you might not be putting enough ice in it to make it last all day. Your refrigerator might simply not be able to keep up with your demand for ice.
Also, if you have a large storage of ice in your GE ice maker, if the power were to go out for a long period of time, it will help you for a while. States like Florida where hurricanes are common are a great example of a good place to purchase an ice maker. If you are a fisherman or go boating frequently, I bet you often have to make trips to the local gas station or supermarket to pick up some extra ice. There are probably a lot more times that you will need ice then you think you will. This is why having a GE ice maker, or any other brand can be a good addition that will pay for itself many times over.
Consider the many different types of ice makers on the market and make the best decision that suites your wants and needs.
